Libbe Marquez began working as a Staff Nurse, Medical Surgical/Oncology in 2007. In May 2021, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Graduate College of Nursing, earning her Masters of Science in Nursing APRN-CNS Adult-Gerontology.
She moved to Tulsa and joined Oklahoma Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in 2017 after 10 years of Oncology nursing experience including infusion room, nursing educator, and stem cell transplant. Marquez remains active in professional organizations and committees such as the Oklahoma Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Oncology Nurses Society. Marquez is involved in current clinical research regarding healthcare technologies, cancer treatments, and other pressing health issues. Marquez is the advanced practitioner in our genetics cancer risk assessment clinic, completing the certification course through City of Hope in March of 2022. As the genetic cancer risk practitioner, Marquez focuses on assisting patients in educating on the role genetics plays in cancer care, providing counseling and high-risk screening of cancer patients at OCSRI. Marquez also recognizes the ethical and legal implications of cancer genetic testing, translating this into her clinical practice.
