Dr. Karen Swisher earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in hematology/oncology from the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Swisher has previously worked as a hematology/oncology physician in inpatient and outpatient settings. She also worked as a hospitalist and a hospice medical director and has held memberships to professional organizations like the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and Oklahoma Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Swisher’s additional experience includes attending Northeastern State University and Santa Rosa Junior College, where she received a bachelor of science in chemistry and an associate’s degree in nursing. She held multiple nursing positions at the start of her career as well. Dr. Swisher brings a wide range of experience to OCSRI and has published on a variety of topics related to cancer care and beyond.
