TULSA, OK — Tulsa Cancer Institute (TCI) welcomes Suanne Gersdorf as their new chief executive officer. Gersdorf comes to TCI with more than 20 years of oncology leadership experience. She assumed her new duties on May 13.
“I am delighted to be joining Tulsa Cancer Institute and look forward to working with their accomplished physicians and dedicated staff,” said Gersdorf. “I am passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to the patients whom we are privileged to serve.”
Formerly, Gersdorf provided leadership at Valley Health Services in Winchester, Va. She joined the organization as executive director of oncology and surgery and was later promoted to vice president of corporate service lines. Previous executive positions include serving as director of oncology services at Providence Health Care in Spokane, Wash., administrator at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center’s Mountain States Tumor Institute in Boise, Idaho, and as administrator of patient care services and executive director of Cancer Care of Maine at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine.

Our organization will benefit from her innovative approach and successful track record leading large oncology practices,” said Dr. Daron Street, president of the board of directors at Tulsa Cancer Institute. “Suanne brings a collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership style that will enable the institute to continue to thrive and provide superior patient care.”
Gersdorf earned a Master of Business degree from Husson College in Bangor, Maine and a Master of Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), has been active in Rotary Club, and served as a Board member for Area Agencies on Aging, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
“I will work to position TCI for continued success as a leading provider of oncology care in Oklahoma, and I believe that collaboration with other area healthcare providers is the key to success for all,” Gersdorf stated. “My husband, Chuck, and I are delighted to join the Tulsa community, and we look forward to exploring the region.”
