TULSA, Okla. (May 19, 2014) – Tulsa Cancer Institute has created a team of walkers that will go around the clock in the battle against cancer. The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Tulsa gets underway with teams gathering at Guthrie Green on Friday, May 30th. The event will be from 6.pm- 6 a.m. the next morning.
The Tulsa Relay for Life event will be held overnight as teams camp out at Guthrie Green downtown, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track at all times throughout the evening. Relay For Life brings together people from all walks of life – all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Tulsa Cancer Institute welcomes you to join in the fight against cancer today. Volunteers can join the Tulsa Cancer Institute Relay for Life team for $10. “Relay For Life is a unique opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember those we’ve lost, and fight back against the disease,” said Kim Wilson, Communications for Tulsa Cancer Institute.
Tulsa Cancer Institute will also have a team participating in the Stillwater, Bartlesville and McAlester Relay for Life events.
