This October, as the leaves turn red, orange, and yellow, our ribbons will turn pink. Each ribbon is a sign of support and understanding from cancer patients and survivors, their friends and families, those who have lost loved ones, and many others wishing to spread knowledge and awareness.
Every year, breast cancer affects hundreds of thousands of women and their families. Receiving the diagnosis of breast cancer – and going through treatment – is very difficult for everyone involved. At OCSRI, we are dedicated to making this time as easy as possible, by providing top-notch staff and staying at the forefront of cancer treatment. As recently announced, Dr. LaNette F. Smith – one of the highest-rated breast cancer specialists in the region – joined our team in January 2017, to head our OCSRI Breast Center. Together, we will meet the challenges of breast cancer head-on with each and every one of our patients.
At OCSRI, we feel the best way we can support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is by arming our patients with the best information and treatment options available in order to fight back and persevere. Of course, we intend to proudly sport our pink ribbons, too! If you’d like to read more about Breast Cancer Awareness Month and its history, please visit PinkRibbon.org
