
Dr. Basil Bakir received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. He went on to complete both his MD and PhD through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where his dissertation focused on how pancreatic cancer cells spread to other parts of the body.
Dr. Bakir is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He completed his internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in medical oncology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.
